【Registration Form】Syria: Destruction, Devastation, and Hope -Aeham Ahmad Concert in Japan-

Stand with Syria Japan will organize a special event  “Syria: Destruction, Devastation and Hope -Aeham Ahmad Concert in Japan” in this coming April. We will welcome Mr. Aeham Ahmad, a pianist from Yarmouk and a refugee in Germany, who will tell the audience his experiences and thoughts through his play and talk. Mr. Ahmad is Palestinian-Syrian born in a refugee camp in Yarmouk, Syria. He has never stopped playing his piano to deliver a little hope to civilians in the camp. Mr. Ahmad became a symbol of hope and defiance and began to embrace a larger mission: showing that there were humans stuck in Yarmouk.

After fleeing to Germany in 2015, he still plays to raise awareness of the situation in Syria, in particular to tell the world what ordinary civilians of Syria have faced. In 2015, he received International Beethoven Prize for Human Rights.

We believe that the Concerts will be an important trigger for the Japanese public to realize what is going on in Syria and to understand the importance of standing with civilians of Syria, who suffer the most.

The Symposium and the Concerts together provide a great opportunity for Japanese people to show solidarity with people of Syria.
